Anodyne Systems was founded by J. Maier, a physical therapist in Madison, Mississippi. As part of his practice as a physical therapist, Mr. Maier treated factory workers with carpal tunnel syndrome. While treating these workers, he was led to conclude that certain stretches alleviated symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. This discovery prompted him to develop a device that could efficiently perform these same stretches. His goal was to produce a high quality device that was both effective and affordable.
